Yechiel S Goldberg, PhD, CFP®, ChSNC®, started in the financial services business after a career as a professor of Jewish and Religious studies. He received his BA from Brandeis University and his MA and PhD from New York University. In his role as an undergraduate and graduate advisor in the Department of Religious Studies at California State University, Long Beach, Yechiel discovered his passion for helping people define and articulate their goals and develop and implement plans to achieve those goals. Leaving the academic world and turning to financial services offered Yechiel the opportunity to pursue that passion with a wider range of people from varied backgrounds. As the father of a son with special needs, Yechiel makes working with people with special needs and their families a primary focus of his financial planning practice. He also works with a variety of professionals and business owners.
Yechiel is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and holds the Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®) designation. He has engaged in financial planning since 2010.
In line with his interest in helping people with special needs and their families with the specialized financial planning that is focused on making the most of government benefits and enabling those with special needs to live the best life possible, Yechiel serves on the Board of Directors of the newly created Jewish Los Angeles Pooled Special Needs Trust. He is also active in the community as the chair of the Jewish Committee on Scouting of the Western Los Angeles County Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Yechiel and his wife, Miriam, have two teenage boys and live in Los Angeles, CA.
